Course Description
This one-hour virtual technical session provides pest management professionals with a science-based overview of rodenticides, including active ingredients, formulations, and their effects on target species. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of available products and resources to support informed decision-making in the field.
The session will also address the regulatory status of rodenticides and how federal, state, and local laws influence access and use. Emphasis will be placed on rodenticide stewardship, including best practices to minimize non-target, secondary, and environmental exposures while maintaining effective rodent control.

Matt Frye, PhD
Rodent & Structural Pest Management Specialist, Cornell Integrated Pest Management
Dr. Matt Frye is the Rodent and Structural Pest Management Specialist with Cornell Integrated Pest Management. He provides education and conducts research related to pest management in and around buildings. Matt earned his Master’s and PhD degrees in Entomology from the University of Delaware and began his career in the pest management industry in 2011 as an Urban Entomologist for a New York-based pest management company. He continues to consult on inspections, product development, and as a science advisor for the pest management industry.
