Speaker: Annie Dahl, Safety Coordinator, Sprague Pest Solutions
Pest management professionals routinely work outdoors, in protective gear, and in physically demanding environments—conditions that can significantly increase the risk of heat-related illness. This focused safety session is designed to help employers and technicians recognize heat stress hazards and take proactive steps to prevent injury and illness.
Participants will gain practical, real-world guidance on heat illness prevention, proper hydration and rest practices, acclimatization for new or returning employees, early warning signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and how to respond when symptoms appear. The session will also address employer responsibilities and best practices for building a heat safety plan that supports both compliance and worker wellbeing.
This training is tailored specifically to the pest management industry and reflects the real conditions technicians face in the field. Whether you manage a team or work in the field yourself, this session will provide actionable tools to strengthen your safety culture during warmer months.
There is no cost to attend, but advance registration is required. Registered participants will receive the login link and additional session details prior to the event.
